Building Humi's Mobile Experience from the Ground Up
I joined Humi as the mobile designer responsible for designing the mobile app and building the mobile design system from scratch. The challenge was creating a scalable system that aligned with the existing web platform while addressing the unique demands of mobile design, from touch targets to responsive layouts across iOS and Android.
The goal was simple but ambitious: deliver a mobile experience that felt native, consistent, and effortless for users managing their HR needs on the go.
I built a mobile design system that became the foundation for all mobile product work, including payroll, timeoff and employee profiles. Every component was built with both platforms in mind, ensuring design patterns remained consistent across iOS and Android without sacrificing platform conventions.
The work went beyond documentation. I collaborated closely with engineering to implement the system in a way that reduced handoff friction and empowered the team to ship faster. The result was an 80% reduction in design inconsistencies, creating a more cohesive experience and freeing up time to focus on solving user problems rather than fixing visual debt.
